The hirers of bicycles or other vehicles of any kind undertake to behave in accordance with the following regulations and to give their full consent thereto:
- The hirer must submit to the in force regulations and laws of road traffic.
- The lessor declines any responsibility for accidents and subsequent consequences, as well as damage caused by the lessee to third parties, public or private.
- The hirer is responsible for the rented equipment both in case of accident, damage, violations or theft. Repair costs, loss of enjoyment and depreciation of value caused by his fault, carelessness or negligence are the responsibility of the hirer.
In case of loss, theft or a case of total damage, the hirer will have to pay compensation, which corresponds to the sales value of the vehicle on the day of commencement of the rental. - The renter is deemed to have checked the vehicle upon departure and to have found it in impeccable condition. All damages shall be paid immediately to the lessor.
- It is strictly forbidden:
- Driving up and down the kerb.
- Colliding with the vehicles, driving against each other, third parties or any other, whether on public or private - property.
- Carrying more people than the seats provided.
- To ride on the beach, in mud or in the dunes.
- A fee of at least 25 euros will be charged if any of the above is found.
- In the event of abuse and/or misconduct, the rental company has the right to demand the immediate return of the vehicle without repayment of the rental fee.
- The renter shall not make the vehicle available to third parties under any circumstances.
- Prepaid rent is not recoverable under any circumstances, it is considered acquired by the landlord.
- Only the courts of Bruges are competent to rule on any disputes.
Privacy statement
In the context of bicycle and gocart hire, we attach great importance to the protection of your personal data. This privacy statement explains what data we collect, how we use it and how we ensure its security. This declaration forms part of our rental contract.
1. Personal data collected.
In order to handle the rental of bikes and gocarts correctly and safely, we collect the following personal data:
- surname and first name
- date of birth
- address
- copy of identity card: this is by means of a paper photocopy. If you do not have an identity card or other official document, provided with your photo, (driving licence) with you, you can show this via a photo on your phone or show your personal data via Itsme. We will then take a photo of this
2. Purposes of processing.
We process your personal data for the following purposes:
- Administrative handling of the rental agreement.
- Identification of the tenant in case of damage or unforeseen events.
- Legal obligations relating to accounting and record-keeping.
3. Retention period.
Your data will be kept only for the strictly necessary period:
- Maximum rental period: At rental contracts longer than 1 day your personal data will be maximally 7 years retained, in accordance with legal retention requirements for administrative and accounting documents.
- Rental for up to 1 day: in the case of rental for maximum 1 day all personal data will be destroyed at the end of the rental season.
4. Data security.
We take the necessary technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against loss, theft or unauthorised access. Your data is treated confidentially and can only be accessed by authorised personnel.
Disclosure to third parties.
Your personal data will be not transferred to third parties, unless we are legally obliged to do so or you have given your explicit consent.
6. Your rights.

7. Amendments.
We reserve the right to amend this privacy statement if necessary in the context of legal or operational developments. Any changes will be communicated through our usual communication channels.
